    • Welcome to the lesson on Predicative and Attributive Adjectives!

      Adjectives help describe people, places, and things—but did you know they can appear in different parts of a sentence? In this lesson, you'll explore how adjectives work before a noun (the happy child) and after a linking verb (the child is happy). You'll practice recognizing both types and use them to write more clearly and effectively.

    • By the end of the lesson, the student should be able to;

      • Define predicative and attributive adjectives.

      • Identify predicative and attributive adjectives in sentences.

      • use attributive and predicative adjective appropriately in sentences

    • This short pre-quiz helps check your prior understanding of how adjectives function in different parts of a sentence. You'll be asked to identify where adjectives are placed and recognize common sentence patterns involving predicative and attributive adjectives.

    • This activity will help you practice identifying where adjectives appear in a sentence. You will learn to distinguish between predicative adjectives, which follow a linking verb, and attributive adjectives, which come before the noun they describe.

      You’ll answer questions that ask you to select the correct adjective from a sentence or determine sentence patterns based on adjective placement. This is great preparation for applying your knowledge to both writing and grammar analysis.

    • This practice activity helps you apply what you've learned about predicative and attributive adjectives. You'll read sentences and decide where the adjective appears and what type it is. This will reinforce your understanding of adjective placement and function within a sentence.

      By the end of the task, you should feel more confident identifying how adjectives are used in real-world examples.

    • This self-assessment is designed to help you reflect on your understanding of attributive and predicative adjectives. You’ll evaluate your ability to define these adjectives, identify them in sentences, and use them correctly.

      Choose the option that best describes your confidence level.
      If you select “With difficulty” or “Unable to perform task,” it's a good idea to review the lesson materials or ask for clarification before moving forward.
