Week 01 – Day 1: Citing Textual Evidence in Analysis

In this lesson, students will learn how to support their answers and analysis by citing textual evidence from nonfiction texts. Through guided reading, discussions, and short written responses, students will practice identifying relevant evidence and using sentence starters to accurately reference the text. This skill is essential for building strong arguments and clear comprehension, and supports mastery of RI.7.1 in Grade 7 English Language Arts.
